Remote Switch for LED Lighting
These products will let you turn your rig's lighting on and off from a channel on your remote control.
If your lighting gets its power by plugging into your receiver, just plug this Remote Switch into the receiver first, then plug your lighting into it. Then you can flip your lights on and off from your transmitter!
The output devices used in these controllers are capable of more than 10 amps, but that is way more than the wires are able to pass. Keep the total current well below 10 amps to avoid trouble.
There are several options with this item.
Choose the Power Option:
Normal
- These controllers will send power from the receiver to your lighting.
External
- Want to run a different voltage to your load? Select the External Power version and you can run power from a separate battery pack to light up your lights.
Choose the Controller Version:
Normal
- The simplest form of the controller turns the power on and off for a single lighting circuit. This works on a two position or linear channel.
Dimmer
- How about three levels of brightness?
Do you have one of those crazy bright light setups on your rig?
I have one and I like to use it but I don't always want it so bright that I can't look at my truck.
This controller runs from a two position channel.
Click the channel once and the lights are at full brightness.
Click again for medium brightness.
Click one more time for low brightness.
The next click shuts them off.
DUAL
- Will you be using a three position or linear channel to control your lights? Why not have the ability to switch two circuits? Choose the Dual RC Switch. It lets you run two lighting circuits (or other small loads) from one three position channel.
This is how it works: The channel three control normally sits in the center position. Toggle it to the left to work circuit number one, toggle it right to work circuit number two. Each time you toggle a circuit, it flips from off to on, or vice versa.
Park Lights, Head Lights...
- With this dual output controller, you can turn on the running lights (parking lights) and then turn on the headlights as well. This could have been done with two channels on your transmitter, but with this little circuit, you can do it with one three position or linear channel.
The three positions will give you:
Note that if you choose the external power version of this controller, both outputs will get external power. If you would prefer receiver power to feed the park light output, please send me a note. Best is to email me at mostlyal@gmail.com to let me know.
Choose the Output Connector
Bare Pins
- This is a pair of connector pins with 0.1 inch spacing. Many LED lighting kits are made to get their power by connecting to an unused receiver connector. These pins are compatible with servo plugs.
Pig tails
- This is a pair of wires that you can attach to your lighting.
Shrouded Pins
- These are covered connector pins with 0.1 inch spacing and are compatable with servo plugs and feature an insulating cover that surrounds the plug.

Dimmable remote switch
I got a HeyOK remote dimmable switch with remote power to control a Vanquish LED light bar on my Slash. I run a small separate 750 mah 3s lipo to power the lights since the light bar works best around 11-12 volts and I always run 2s in my truck. It works awesome and the quality of the switch is top notch! I love the dimmable feature and find myself running usually in the med setting and am glad I got it.
